Product updates
Last updated September 6, 2026
A product updates channel is a public channel for software publishers. When you ship, you post a short spoken update. Followers hear what changed, and they get a button back to the full notes.
This is the same feed channel as any other. The template just fills in the name, visibility, Discover tag, and website URL so you can start in one screen.
Create
- Open Channels → Create channel.
- Pick Product updates.
- Enter the product name and, optionally, the website or changelog URL.
- Share the follow link (
/c/<slug>) and the README badge from the success screen or Channel tools.
The channel is public, named <Product> updates, tagged Product updates in Discover, and uses the Standard voice pack unless you change it later.
Free accounts get one channel slot. Paid plans get more, and a higher follower cap. See Premium.
Post an update
On the channel hub, use Update in the composer:
- Headline:
2.4orSeptember release. Listeners hear " 2.4 is out." - Highlights: what changed, in spoken sentences. Stay under 500 characters for the whole line.
- Paste release notes if you already have markdown. Announcr strips headings, bullets, PR numbers, SHAs, mentions, and URLs, then keeps as many sentences as fit.
- The link prefills from your website URL, with the caption Read the notes. Change it if you want.
Send. Followers hear the line out loud. The card shows the link.
Share the badge
Paste the markdown or HTML snippet from Channel tools into your README. It points at /c/<slug>. People who follow hear the next update.
What listeners hear
A short spoken line. Not the whole changelog. The full notes stay behind the link.
Automation (CI, GitHub Releases, RSS) is not part of this flow yet. Post from the app for now.
