Gmail watch speaks the email you are waiting for — not your whole inbox. Connect Gmail with read-only access, set who or what should match, and hear that arrival as spoken alerts while you stay focused elsewhere.

Normal Google sign-in does not grant mailbox access. Connect Gmail is a separate consent step under Catalog → Gmail. Disconnecting removes Announcr's watcher access. Existing watches stay paused until you reconnect.

Gmail watches are a Premium feature (Free has none; paid plans include up to 15 active watches).

Set up a watch

1. Open Catalog → Gmail and connect Gmail if you have not already.
2. Optionally nickname the watch (for example offer letter or wire confirmation).
3. Narrow the match with From, Subject contains, and/or a plain-language What should match intent.
4. Optionally edit the visible candidate Gmail query, turn on Stop after the first match, or set an auto-end time.
5. Create the watch. Manage it under Signals.

When you describe intent in plain language, Announcr plans a broad candidate search, then checks sender, subject, and snippet before speaking — so a loose retrieval query does not dump your inbox into the speaker. You can also type Gmail search syntax into the candidate query yourself.

You can also create a supported Gmail watch by voice: tap the header microphone, say what you are waiting for, review the fields, and confirm.

Use cases

Situation	How to set it
One person you are waiting on	Set From to their address (or @firm.com for a whole domain). Optional nickname: recruiter, lawyer, landlord.
One subject phrase	Set Subject contains to a phrase such as signed contract, interview, or wire confirmation. Combine with From when you know the sender.
A meaning, not a fixed subject	Fill What should match with intent such as funding or genuine investment interest or lease offer I can act on. Announcr retrieves candidates and only speaks mail that clears the relevance check.
Stop after the answer arrives	Turn on Stop after the first match (one-shot) so the watch ends when the first qualifying email lands.
Time-boxed waiting	Set Auto-end so a temporary watch expires after an interview week, a closing date, or a shipping window.
Hands-busy setup	Use the microphone flow: say a supported Gmail request, review the proposed fields, edit if needed, then confirm.

Good fits: offer letters, funding replies, support escalations, shipping or KYC confirmations, and any other arrival you would otherwise refresh an inbox to catch. Bad fits: "read everything," newsletter digests, or treating Announcr as a full inbox assistant.

What you hear

Matching mail is spoken as a short ambient alert (sender and subject context) and kept in Messages. Announcr does not send email, rewrite threads, or announce mail outside the filters you set.
